How to Take Part in the 28-Day Handstands & Power Challenge: Q&A

For those of you who don't know, in February I launched a FREE course to help my students cultivate a yoga habit, as well as feel inspired in their practices again. Since launching the 28-Day Handstands & Power Challenge (now, 'Course') I've had a lot of questions about it that I'd like to clear up.

So without further adeiu, here's some Q&A:

Q: How do I register for the 28-Day Handstands & Power Challenge?

A: Head over to the Yoga Badass Community group and request to join. Please DO fill out the questions, including your bio, in order to be accepted into the Challenge. (If you do not fill out the questions or leave your bio/pic blank, you may not be accepted to join out of respect to our awesome Yoga Badass Community - thanks in advance for understanding.)

Q: Who is this 28-Day Handstands & Power Challenge for?

A: This course is for yoga lovers who are looking to do something fun in a highly engaged sort of way. This is definitely for those who have a more seasoned practice - at least a full year of consistent Ashtanga or Power Flow classes - or have another current physical practice. There are multiple levels to the course, some stages for beginners, and some more advanced so that we can learn how to level up a bit.

Q: Can beginners try it too?

A: If you have a current yoga practice but haven't been practicing for very long you may find this Challenge fun and rewarding, especially if you work on building strength through modifications offered in each module.

Q: I'm injured. Can I still take part?

A: Yes, but within reason. I simply want to remind you to be your own best advocate along the way. You may choose to participate in some or all of the daily modules: getting creative and skipping ones that do not work, while repeating ones you love.

Q: How long is the Challenge?

A: It's literally 28 days of yoga. Spread out over four weeks, each day holds a different piece of short practices and drills for you to work on.

Q: Do I add each day's practice onto the prior day's practice?

A: NO. Do not do that. Although I do advise making sure you are warmed up before each drill, especially if we do not begin with a warm up. An example of this is the hip opening days where it's assumed you've already done some Sun Salutations.

Q: Is the 28-Day Handstands & Power Challenge only for people who are good at going upside-down?

A: NO. The point is to create consistency and a habit around having fun on your yoga mat. Along the way we will absolutely get stronger and go upside down, but you do not have to do that at all. There are modification recommendations for each pose offered, so give yourself permission to do a different but intentional pose if something doesn't work for you.

Q: What if I don't finish all 28 Days?

A: Listen, we all fall off the wagon every once in a while. The point is to jump back on when you can and try to keep going. We are working toward building a yoga habit with this Challenge - simply focus on that part even if you need to get creative about HOW or WHAT you practice.

Q: Is the Challenge free?

A: Only for a short time longer - beginning April 1, 2023 the price of the 28-Day Handstands & Power Challenge will increase from 'FREE' to a paid program (to check the cost, head on over to the 'Classroom' tab in the Yoga Badass Community group.

Q: Ok, I finished all 28 Days! Now what?

A: Did you develop a yoga habit you are excited about during the Challenge? Let's keep practicing together. I have other courses for sale and additional ways to work with me live most days of the week. It's most important that you keep your momentum going in order to create the practice - and life - you want. Most of us need accountability partners to help us along the way, and luckily I've got you covered.

Feel free to ask more questions in the comments below and I'll add them here. Thanks everyone!
